Lab Build: Construction Is Complete - 30/04/17

The day has finally arrived, the builders have packed up their belongings and left which means only one thing, the lab is done.

Ok, so its not actually done, there still lots of work ahead of us but structurally, the builders have completed their job. We now have a big empty room ready to paint and fill with experiments!

Last week the the plasterboard's were fully plastered and the areas around the door and windows were finished off. Once the plaster dried out, the skirting board was fitted finishing off the seal between the room and the outside world. They also relaid the concrete around the bottom of the door as that part was not properly smoothed out when the floor was poured a few weeks ago. They then moved all of their equipment out and swept up all the construction dust/mess that was present. The top of the drain was also covered back over with dirt and all remaining soil was moved to the skip.

A milestone has certainly been reached this week. Expect more updateds in the coming weeks regarding how we start the moving in process for my new lab!

And there's still plenty of space round the back for extra storage.
